Currency

RON = Leu (plural “Lei”) (pronunciation: lay).

The official exchange rate is around: 1 EUR= 5.23 LEI. This rate varies slightly on a daily basis.

There are several exchanges at the Henri Coanda airport, but the Exchange rates are better in the city.

ATMs

There are several ATMs in the Arrivals Terminal, Public area, first floor. You can take out lei from almost any Credit and Debit Cards. All ATMs offer similar exchange rates and can be used with confidence.

Transportation

IMPORTANT! Please be informed that extensive renovations are taking place outside the airport, which may create slight inconveniences especially if you’re trying to reach the train.

When arriving in Bucharest, in order to reach to the airport, you can take the Express line 100 – it leaves every 15 minutes during the day and every 30 minutes at night and it leaves you in the city center of Bucharest (Station called Piata Romana) and you can pay by card directly in the bus (one 90 minutes trip is 3 lei = 0.6 eur).

You can also use Uber and Bolt, they have a designated pickup point when exiting the airport – prices are variable. Taxis are another option you can use, just make sure the price they display is around 3 lei / km.

Not least, you can also take the express train to Gara de Nord (main railway station in Bucharest). The train leaves every 40 minutes and one way ticket is around 7 lei (1.5 euros).

Since the event is delivered under a dual-track format in conjunction with “The Future of Higher Education: Sharing knowledge and supporting implementation for a stronger Bologna Process” Conference, organised by the European Higher Education Area Secretariat, a policy-oriented forum dedicated to mechanisms and practices for supporting the Bologna Process implementation at national and institutional levels, participants will also have the opportunity to attend selected sessions of the parallel event.

Number of registrations is limited according to the conference rooms’ capacity.
